Lochranza Ferry

The Caledonian MacBrayne Lochranza ferry M.V. Loch Tarbert sails daily to Claonaig on the Mull of Kintyre in the Summer and once a day to Tarbert during the Winter. For people touring the West coast it is an excellent way to get to Arran.

Useful Information

  • The ferry takes a maximum of 18 cars (less if there are commercial vehicles) and can not be booked in advance during the Summer Claonaig sailings
  • During the Winter the ferry sails once a day to Tarbert and MUST be booked in advance. Tel 01880 730253
  • Check in for vehicles and foot passengers closes 10 minutes before sailing
  • Bicycles travel for free
  • There are buses occasional between Claonaig, Kennacraig and Tarbert
  • Bus 324 runs between Blackwaterfoot, Lochranza and Brodick.

Insider Tip.A ride on this ferry is a great way to appreciate the size of the mountains on Arran. Make sure you have your camera to hand.
