CalMac Ferry from Ardrossan to Brodick

The Caledonian MacBrayne Brodick ferry M.V. Caledonian Isles sails from Ardrossan to Brodick and is the most popular way to get to the Isle of Arran. Less than an hour from Glasgow to Ardrossan by car or train and with a 55 minute crossing time, you can soon be on Arran.

There are 3 levels of timetable that operate through the year.

During the Winter there are 5 sailings a day.

In the Summer an extra ferry operates on Friday evenings.

From July to late August The M.V. Isle of Arran provides extra sailings. Please note that there are no extra trains to or from Ardrossan and no extra buses to and from Brodick for these sailings.

  • Vehicle drivers should book ahead at busy periods as the ferry often gets fully booked. Do you want to have to find a bed in Ardrossan, when you have a booking on the island ??
  • Check in for vehicles closes 30 minutes before sailing
  • Check in for foot passengers closes 10 minutes before sailing
  • Insider Tip. If you are visting other Islands, then it may be worth considering CalMac Island Hopscotch Tickets. These covers more than one route and can give good savings.

  • There are various options for fares. Saturdays and Bank holidays are usually full prices, but it does depend upon which ferry you catch.
  • Meals are available on the ferry
  • Bicycles travel for free
  • Except for M.V. Isle of Arran sailings buses on Arran link to the Brodick ferry times and leave from the ferry terminal at Brodick.
  • The extra High Summer ferries using the M.V. Saturn do not have bus connections at Brodick or train connections at Ardrossan
